Lowell Catlett
Lowell Catlett, Ph.D., a futurist with positive
and upbeat predictions, is an enthralling and
spellbinding presenter. His unique perspective
of emerging technologies prepares us to
anticipate coming changes, and to deal winning
hands when the deck is being continually
reshuffled.
He awakens our awareness to human potential
even in changing times and shifting terrain. Lowell is
a Regents Professor in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural
Business and Extension Economics and the Dean of the College
of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at New
Mexico State University.
He is the author of numerous books and articles and won the
university’s highest award to a professor, the Westhafer Award.
He works nationally and internationally with corporations and
organizations doing futuristic planning concerning the impacts
of technology on careers, lifestyles and the economy.
Lowell also works with the U.S. Departments of Agriculture,
Labor, Interior, Defense, Education, Energy and the World
Bank. Lowell has been a visiting professor or delivered invited
presentations at over 50 universities including Harvard, MIT,

David T. Crow
David Crow founded DCLRS in 1991 and built a
talented team specializing in policy areas including
agriculture, climate, energy, international, labor/
immigration, pesticides, fertilizers, small business,
transportation and infrastructure, and water policy.
David developed a wide range of contacts
and knowledge working for Rep. Tom Coleman
(R-MO), Secretary of Agriculture Jack Block, the
Fertilizer Institute, the National Council of Farmer
Cooperatives and the Jefferson Group. He also
speaks to a wide range of industry audiences. He continues to be
deeply engaged in the political process on issue areas that impact
our members. David also worked on several presidential and congressional
campaigns in order to connect to the political process.
Jeff Paulsen
Jeff Paulsen is the Executive Vice President
for Sales at R+L Truckload & Global
Logistics in Ft. Myers, FL. He has over 20
years of transportation experience in both
operations management and sales management
including 16 years of experience with
Werner Enterprises, 4 years with Covenant
Transport and 3 1/2 years with R+L Carriers.
Donald Bisson
Donald Bisson is Vice President, Government and
Industry Affairs, Composite Panel Association.
Has been with CPA since September 2004 in the
Canadian office in Ottawa, Ontario. Has extensive
experience in forest product industry having managed
complexes in Ontario Canada, with multiple
operations including particleboard, hardwood
plywood and softwood lumber for over 23 years.
Charles D Leonard
Charles D Leonard is a Certified Industrial
Hygienist and consulting chemist with over
30 years experience in Industrial Hygiene,
analytical chemistry and process control. He
has been authoring safety data sheets for fifteen
years and currently specializes in GHS data
sheet preparation for specialty chemical, oil
field and mining industries. Mr. Leonard is a
member of the Society for Chemical Hazard
Communication (SCHC) and will present
Hazard Communication 2012 – The Revised Standard and What
Changes You Can Expect in the Workplace, a presentation developed
by the OSHA and SCHC Alliance.
James Bentley
James began work with the Southern Research
Station in 1998, visiting research plots as a
field forester for the Forest Inventory and
Analysis (FIA) work unit. After several years
measuring plots, he advanced into a Quality
Assurance forester position. Currently, he is
the FIA Resource Use team leader with responsibilities
including the collection, analysis, and
reporting on the Timber Product Output (TPO)
studies for the primary wood using facilities
in the south, national pulpwood reporting annually, and Harvest and
Utilization studies
Dr. Bill Fonteno
Dr. Fonteno is a Professor of Horticultural
Science at North Carolina State University.
A native Texan, he has been teaching and
researching for over 37 years. During his
tenure, Bill has been recognized with several
national awards in research and elected to the
Academy of Outstanding Teachers at NCSU.
His areas of interest are in ornamental and
greenhouse production, specifically in plat-soilwater
relations. Bill is also the Director of the
Horticultural Substrates Laboratory at NCSU and has worked with
growers and manufacturers of potting soils for over 30 years. He has
been the Technical Advisor for the Mulch and Soil Council for over
15 years, where he assisted the Council in developing standards for
all retail potting soils, mulches and soil amendments sold in the US.
He is also the Director of the Certification Program for the Council,
overseeing the quality and compliance of standards for all mulches,
soil amendments and potting soils in the Certification Program.
